Guadalupe Velazquez, 78, a lifelong resident of Freeport, passed away on December 24, 2023. She was born in Freeport on September 9, 1945.

Lupe had many friends and family who she maintained relationships with throughout her life and knew many people in the area. She held a variety of local jobs from Kmart, to working at several convenient stores, game rooms, childcare aid, and a cashier with Aramark in the Dow Cafeteria. Lupe enjoyed having shrimp and fish fries for her family, enjoyed playing slots, bingo, watching TV crime shows, cheering on the Houston Astros but especially loved watching the Dallas Cowboys. She was a devout Catholic who loved her church community and her faith. Attending St. Henry Church, St. Jerome, St. Mary and most recently St. Joseph's Church in Brazoria. She loved to help with many of the church activities and fundraiser events. Family was the heart of Lupe and she loved her family very much. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lupe made time to attend their events and made special trips to see them wherever they lived. She was dedicated to not only her immediate family but her brothers and sisters, her nieces, and nephews, and all those who were related to her.

Left to treasure her memory are her children: Tina Battle (Brad) and kids Brittney Brinner (Hunter), Vanessa, Alan, Joshua, Aaron, and Rebecca Battle. Adam Ramirez Jr. (Amy) and kids Haley, Devin (Brittany), Isaac. Grandsons Vincent Ramirez Jr. (Amanda), Steven Ramirez, Brandon Ramirez Sr. (Logan), Justin Ramirez (Dulce). Brothers Arthur E. Moreno Sr. (Valentina), Juan Moreno (Linda), Angel G Moreno, Exsiquio ''Zeke'' Moreno, Guillermo ''Peno'' Moreno, Ismael Moreno, Jose ''Piyo'' Moreno(Kathy). Sisters Maria Reyes (Raymond), Isabel Janiek, Sister-in-law Celia Moreno and 14 wonderful great grandkids. Numerous nieces and nephews who she considered to be her own.

Preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Moreno, and Clara Rangel. Stepmom Conception Moreno, Son and Daughter in law, Vincent and Linda Ramirez. Father of her children, Adam Ramirez Sr. Her brothers, Frank Moreno, Lorenzo Moreno. Sister Aurora Linda Martinez. Great Granddaughter Zaylin Ramirez.

Rosary services will be at 6:30pm on January 2, 2024 at Lakewood Funeral Home. Mass and Funeral Services will be at 11am on January 3, 2024 at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Brazoria, burial will follow at Angleton Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Vincent Ramirez, Jr, Brandon Ramirez, Steven Ramirez, Justin Ramirez, Devin Ramirez, Isaac Ramirez, Alan Battle, Joshua Battle, Aaron Battle. Honorary Pallbearers Aaron Ware, Jay Garcia, Marcelino Robledo, Hunter Brinner, and Barry Battle.
