Thelma J. Hurst, 82, of Brazoria, Texas passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2015. Thelma was born March 28, 1933 in Sand Springs to W.H. Chalk and Ella Howard Chalk. Thelma was a member of the Eastern Star and the Jones Creek Baptist Church.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years, George Hurst, and 10 siblings.



Thelma is survived by 3 step-children: Larry Hurst and wife Linda of Lake Jackson, Ronnie Hurst and wife Dolene of Victoria, Regina Hurst of Brazoria, 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.



The family received friends 5pm -7pm Thursday at Lakewood Chapel.



Visitation will be 9am to 11am Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will will be Noon Saturday at South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.



The family requests in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's research.



Thelma enjoyed sewing and loved keeping her grandchildren.

Thelma was a wonderful Christian woman and a true friend. We enjoyed many years together in Velasco Chapter #220, OES. Thank you Thelma for making my life richer because of your love and kindness.
