MOTTIE "TOMMIE" CRAWFORD of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away December 11, 2015.

She was born on August 19, 1920, to Neal Henley and Gwendolyn Butler Henley in Lufkin, Texas.

She married the love of her life William J. Crawford on April 27, 1936 in Velasco, Texas.

Mottie was preceded in death by her parents, her five brothers, her husband, William J. Crawford, her daughter, Betty Weber and great-grandson Jared Burris.

She is survived by her daughters Dorothy Morris and her husband Joe of Lake Jackson and Shareen Lee of Nederland, Texas; two grandsons Ben Lee (Fran) and Aaron Lee and granddaughters Michele Smith (Gregg), Mileesa Burris (Terry), Marlene Wright (Douglas), and Malinda Brown Smith (Raymond); and nine great grandchildren.

She was known as Mother, Aunt Tommie and Mimi to various generations of children whom she loved and cared for-related or not.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel, 98 N. Dixie Drive, Lake Jackson, Texas, on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Her grandson-in-law Douglas Wright will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to your favorite charity.

Mottie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Country Village Care in Angleton, Texas and A-Med Hospice group for the care of their Mother.

Tommie was a big part of my Life as I grew up she was not only a friend to me but a mama when my own mother passed away. I had many laughs and cries at her home and with her family. Tommie Thank you I love you still. To her family thank you for sharing your mama with so many love to you all Andria
