Delilah "Dee" Louise Lanham Kindred, age 61, succumbed to her lung cancer on December 12, 2015, in her home in Quintana Beach.

Born in Warrenton, VA, June 7, 1954, Dee was the daughter of Daniel S. Lanham (deceased) and Mabel V. Coppage Lanham (Warrenton, VA), the second child of five. She attended Brentsville Senior High in Nokesville, VA, and Osbourne High School in Manassas, VA. In 1979, she became owner/operator of Sunshine Pool Care for seventeen years until she sold it. She owned and managed bar and grill establishments until 2000; then for the last fifteen years was a traveler, socialite, beach property owner and manager, and new grandmother with the love of her life, Harold!

Dee became a resident of Brazoria County 1976 with the transfer of her then spouse with IBM. She loved living on the coast as the beach was her favorite destination. Her longtime dream was to fly airplanes. She took her flight school class yet never did her flight time. In lieu of flying, she would park at the Brazoria County Municipal Airport in the evenings and watch the airplanes against the sunset. She finally fulfilled her ambition to fly, accompanying Harold on many flights across the country. She also loved to paint in oils, with sunsets being a favorite subject.

Dee is survived by her partner Harold M. Doty (Quintana, TX), his daughter Elizabeth Doty Woolard, his son Edward Everett Doty, his grandchild Payton Woolard, her daughter Penni Lane Kindred Snyder (Jared), her son Aaron D. Kindred (Brittany), her grandchildren Brittany L. Williamson, Kelsey L. Kindred, Persephone L Snyder, Tiberius J.A. Snyder, Penelope L. Snyder, and Piper J. Kindred; sisters Mabel V. Stanton (Bill) and Thelma O. Rogers (Gary), and her brothers, Daniel S. and David S. Lanham and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Dee was cremated. The family will hold a Celebration of Life for her on January 9, 2016, at 3:00 PM at the Freeport VFW 4341; 108 South Avenue D, Freeport, TX 77541.
