Danny Paul Boyd

Danny Paul Boyd aka T.I. Longhair Jim Courtwright entered his rest with the Lord on January 11, 2016 at his home in Freeport, Tx. Danny was born May 18, 1948 in Hillsboro, Tx. He is preceded in death by his father Harry Boyd, mother Faye Ramsey, and daughter Rebecca King. He is survived by the love of his life, Carla Boyd; son Tom Boyd of Lubbock, step daughter Tosha Phelps, brothers Nathan Boyd and Barbara of Fort Worth, Tx. and Leonard Boyd and Wendy of Marietta, Ga; grandchildren Sarah Ross, Dalton King, Cayla and Lauren Dubose, James Tipton Boyd, Eli Boyd, Samuel Potts, great grandson Graesyn Hinesley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Danny proudly served our country in the US Navy from 1969-1972. He was a life time member of the Texas Historical Shootist Society, Greenwood Gun Club, Houston Gun Collectors Association, and the NRA. Danny was a true cowboy and an erudite man. Some would say that he was born a century too late. The only thing he loved more than learning about our history was sharing it with others. He always had a story to tell. I know he is walking with the Lord with his six-shooter on his hip and his spurs a jingling. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 15th at 11:00am at the Gulf Coast Christian Center in West Columbia. Arrangements made by Lakewood Funeral Home.
