Sandra "Sandy" Salinas of West Columbia, Texas, went to be with our Heavenly Father on April 29, 2016. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Sandra was born to Maria de Jesus Guerrero Ramirez and Reynaldo Ramirez Sr. on November 6, 1956, in Mission, Texas. In 1969, she moved to Lake Jackson with her family and met Mike Salinas in 1970. They were married on October 13, 1972. They spent their early years together in Germany while Mike served in the U.S. Army, and she raised their two young children overseas.

They moved to Freeport in 1979, and she managed the dental office of Dr. Vernon Boswell in Lake Jackson for 27 years. She volunteered for CASA (court appointed special advocates for children) and was a member of the Litt S. Perry Social Order of the Beauceant.

She supported her children in all endeavors, especially school and sports. She was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Freeport and later served as Eucharist Minister at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in West Columbia. She loved to travel and enjoyed experiencing new places with her family.

Sandy was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, sister and aunt. She loved her family and cherished her time with them. She took great pride in her four grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Grammy." Sandy was a confidante to family and friends who always listened and offered wisdom beyond her years. She exuded grace, poise and class.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Mike Salinas; daughter Jeanette Zander (husband Bill); son Michael Salinas (wife Rachael); grandchildren Caroline Salinas, Charlotte Salinas, Carter Salinas and Audrey Zander; mother Maria de Jesus Ramirez; siblings Maria Leyva, Alma Pena, Reynaldo Ramirez Jr. and Cecilia Martinez; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, Reynaldo Ramirez Sr.
