Exiquio A. Moreno, 95, affectionately known as "Mr. Zeke" passed away September 9, 2018 after a brief illness. Exiquio was born in Brazoria, TX to Nabor and Josefa Moreno. He served his country during WWII. Following an honorable discharge, he returned home to Brazoria County. In 1948, Zeke met his future wife, Natividad "Nettie" Moreno in Galveston, TX. They were married on May 23, 1949 and were married for 59 years before Nettie passed away in April 2008. He began working for Dow Chemical, where he was employed for 38 years and retired in April 1982. Retired at 59 years old he established Mr. Zeke's Lawn Service. Zeke was an avid Astros fan and an honorary member of Brazoria County Cavalry. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Zeke is proceeded in death by his wife, his parents, four sisters, and six brothers. He is survived by his brother Ramon Hernandez and sister Silveria Martinez. Also his four daughters and two sons: Yolanda Moreno of Plainview, TX; Manuel Moreno of Clute; Gloria (Benny) Jones of Richwood; Freddy (Deborah) Moreno of Clute; Lollie (Glenn) Byrd of Lake Jackson; and Teresa (Chito) Gonzales of Arlington. His twelve grandchildren: Freddy Jr (Melissa) Moreno; Regina (Ben) Van Avery; Micheal (Rachel) Moreno; Brian (Alicia) Moreno; Alicia Ann Moreno; Deborah (Michael) Mendek; Matthew (Bri) Jones; Kevin (Brittney) Moreno, Vincent Moreno, Victoria Gonzales, and Christopher and Megan Byrd. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are: Freddy Moreno Jr, Micheal Moreno, Brian Moreno, Matthew Jones, Kevin Moreno, Vincent Moreno, Christopher Byrd, and Benjamin Van Avery. Honorary Pallbearers: Daniel Uribe, Arturo Moreno, Edward Rodriguez, Sergio Calvillo, and Justin Earle. Visitation will be at Lakewood Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 6pm-8pm with Rosary recited at 6pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Clute Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Restwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park.

We frequently day next to Zeke at the Sat. 6:00 mass. He was a lovely man. He will be sorely missed by many people. He led an exemplary life and made his family and friends proud to know him.
