Matthew Aaron Schiller

of Richwood, TX

September 4, 1990 - April 29, 2016

On Friday April 29, 2016 Matthew Aaron Schiller, of Richwood, Texas, embarked on his next most excellent journey. He will encounter the mind and love of his Creator and find peace. Matthew was a friend to the friendless, encourager to many, and a challenge to many of our comfort zones. He loved pure truth, freedom of thought and speech, thought provoking humor, and real friends and family.

Matthew is survived by parents Joe & Cynde Schiller of Richwood; grandfather George W. Moore of San Marcos; brother Jarrett Schiller & wife Sandy of Conroe; sister Lauren Tadlock and husband Chris of Rosharon; sister Christine Kiang and husband Samson of Fresno; brother Jeffrey Schiller of Richwood; nephew Eli Tadlock; niece Abbey Tadlock; niece Claire Schiller and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He attended School from ages 3-17 at Brazosport Christian School and Dayspring Christian Academy. He graduated from Brazoswood High school in 2009. Matthew briefly attended Brazosport College, then followed in his father's footsteps entering the school of hard knocks.

Matthew was a young philosopher. He enjoyed deep conversation and analyzing the issues to solve the world's problems. Any debate was a good debate according to Matt. He was an articulate conversationalist and his wit was unmatched. In addition to this, he was quick to offer a listening ear. Without judgment or malice Matthew intently listened to the troubles, pains and burdens of his friends and loved ones. He absorbed the stories, offered perspective, and comforted the wounded. At the conclusion of an intense conversation Matthew would give a big hug, tell you he loved you and know that you loved him too. He appreciated someone who could stay the course of an arduous conversation with mutual respect.

Known for giving great hugs, Matthew could make you feel better in a flash. He loved to laugh and help make others laugh. He was the class clown and the family clown too, and we loved him for it because laughter is one of the greatest gifts in life. Matthew's full-bodied laugh came from the depth of his soul and will be sadly absent in future gatherings.

Matt, above all you touched and enriched our lives, and more importantly our hearts. You are loved and sorely missed! We wish you the peace in death you struggled to find in life.

Memorial service will be Saturday May 7th at 10:30am at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Pastor Chris Villasana officiating.

In lieu of flowers feel free to make memorial donations to: Brazosport Christian School 979-297-0563 http://1bcs.org/about-us/support-bcs/ or His Love Counseling Services 979-297-3236.

Cynde, we don't know if you remember us. We lived behind your mom and dad in Brazoria years ago and you used to babysit our 2 girls. We saw in the paper today about your son and we want you to know we are thinking of you and your family. God bless all of you through this very hard time.

I knew Matt through His dear friend, Taylor Stanley.
I am Taylors's Mi Mi.
Matt was always smiling and joyfully when even I was around him.
I know you will miss him dearly. But know you have peace knowing he is with His Lord and Savior. I was blessed to have meet Matt. Mi Mi (as Matt would call me.)
