Jesse J. Woodard was called to be with the Lord on August 27, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. By his side during his illness was loving son, Louis, wife, Annie, grandson, Morgan and best friends, Linda and Ann. Born in Rule, TX, April 16, 1930, he was preceded in death by his parents, WIlliam and Mable Woodard; son, William; and five sisters, and six brothers. Besides his son Louis and family, he leaves behind a son, Orland, of Denton, TX; and a daughter, Jessica Frisbie and husband, Steve, of Lewisville, TX; the mother of his children, Nancy Woodard, of Denton, TX; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jess served in the Air Force during the Korean War and later attended the University of Texas. He was a Geologist and worked various jobs before retiring from the Dept. of Interior as an inspector for Offshore Oil and Gas Rigs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, traveling and casino gambling. Jess was a true gentleman and will be missed by his family and friends. A special Thank You to Mr. Pinson, of Sweeny, for his prayers with Jess and family during his illness. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Kindred At Home Hospice Care of Wharton, TX. A memorial service will be September 4, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home, Lake Jackson, TX.
