James "Jimmy" Allan, 87, a lifelong resident of Freeport, Texas stepped into eternal life on Thursday, October 6, 2016. Jimmy was born March 13, 1929 in the Freeport Hospital to Captain William and Mary Catherine Allan. Jimmy graduated from Freeport High School class of 1947. He went on to graduate from Southwest Texas University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Jimmy served in the US Army in the Korean Conflict. Jimmy retired from Houston Lighting & Power where he also worked at the South Texas Nuclear Project. He was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Freeport where he served as an Elder. Jimmy loved spending time with his family and friends and had a keen sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Allan; son, Bobby Fuller (Jackie), of Clute; daughter, Jamie Gay (David), of Lake Jackson brother; John "Billy" Allan, of Lake Jackson Freeport; sister Edna Maxine Allan; nephew, Christian "Scotty" Allan (Jeanie), of La Porte; two grandchildren, Jenny Fuller Broaddus (Brian), of Beaumont, Jonathan Gay, of Lake Jackson cousins in Scotland and Canada; and many lifelong friends. Preceded by;brother, Christian "Chris" Haslund Allan; sister, Anna Mar Allan. Special thanks to Health and Hospice. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial gifts be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 1402 W. Broad St., Freeport, Texas 77541.
