Ruth Wetherell was born in Claremore Oklahoma. She had several brothers and sisters whom precede her in death. Her and her husband, Curtis B. Wetherell met and married in 1939, as of his death on June then 23rd of 2015, they had celebrated just over 75 years of marriage. He worked several jobs in around Oklahoma until upon her urging, that he should apply to take a welding proficiency exam for Dow Chemical that she saw in the news paper there. He did so, passed that one and was asked to come down to Dows Texas Division and take the next. He passed that one also and became certified in a few specialties and relocated the family here, early to the mid 1950's Ruth cannot be mentioned without Curtis, eaches lifetime of success was a result of the others devotion, efforts and love. They were blessed with two children, Curtis Otto and Shirley Ann Wetherell. They're lives also intertwined with so many other beautiful souls here and dimensions elsewhere. She simply was the bedrock of many lives, allowing those dependent upon and associated with her to also have the opportunity, by her example, to be the salt of the earth and a candle in the wind to individual's hearts looking for home and the paths of success. It is sure that she and Curtis would like to thank those institutions whom constituted the framework of hers and his existence. Those include Christ Lutheran Church here in Lake Jackson Texas, Community Hospital employees who were a part of the EEG and EKG technicians group years past, Good Sam's RV Club, the many friends and persons of the Experimental Aircraft Association, Square Dancers and other individuals who called her and him they're friend. No one will ever be met who are as dear and diligent as these two were to be honest, exercise good judgement and put forth the effort to perform humble and worthy deeds. She is proceeded in death by her husband Curtis Wetherell, her son Curtis Otto Wetherell and her daughter Shirley Ann. Survivors include three grandchildren, Tim and his wife Monica Baker, Mark Wetherell, his children Alexa Wetherell -Bates, her children, Aidyn, Grayson and Cyrus, Gabrielle Wetherell and her daughter Brynlee, Janice Coleman, her daughter Becky Coleman and son Dustin. Also an ex daughter in law, Cathy Wetherell who lives in Dallas Texas.

I went through high school and rode the bus to Brazosport High School for 3 years with Shirley. During that time we became wonderful friends. After High School, I lost touch with Shirley for about 2-3 years. The next time I ran into her she was a patient in Brazosport Community Hospital. I was working as one of the ER Clerks. By this time her daughter had been born and she was being treated for cancer. We had the most wonderful visit. After Shirley had passed into heaven (heaven was the only place she could possibly be her new home) I called Ruth. Ruth was a phenomenal Mother and they were so close. They were so close. We laughed and cried as we walked down memory lane. Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss.. I know they are together again and their circle is unbroken. God bless you and all of your family members. I pray for God to send the Holy Spirit to comfort and bring peace to your family. They are all going to be greatly missed.
