Funeral services for John Christopher Daniels (Chris Daniels) Age 49 of Clute, Texas will be held on January 3rd, 2018, 10:30 am at Lakewood Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Bridgmon officiating. The family welcomes friends at Lakewood Funeral Home at 9:30 am on January 3rd, 2018. Interment will be held at the Houston V.A. National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, TX) on January 4th at 10:30 am. Chris was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic (Crew Chief) and was a disabled veteran. Serving in the military was a lifelong aspiration and he was so proud to have served his country. After his time in the Army, Chris became a draftsman and then he worked evaluating pipelines. Chris said he was on "permanent vacation" after his first stroke in 2011. His greatest achievement in life though, was his family; he always enjoyed being with them to celebrate the holidays. He was a loyal, dedicated spirit with a heart of gold, always helping others and he had the courage of an alpha lion. He was a relentless fighter; a soldier at heart that persisted until his last breath. He enjoyed fishing, cruises and spending quality time with friends. He was also an excellent cook with an exceptional pallet for flavor and artistry. He enjoyed video games, comics and had a collection of books that could keep even the most bored person occupied. His legacy survives through two successful daughters, Erin Daniels and Emily Daniels, of whom he loved with all his heart and was very proud of, his mother, Letha Cordes, other mother, Gaile Daniels (partner Brian Starrett), brother Ron Trahan (wife Tiffany) and Sean Daniels (wife Robin), sisters Tricia Largent (husband Jason), Raegan Legenz, Brittney Crespi (husband Scott), Landrie Tribble (husband Jason), aunts Patricia McCarty (Tom), Karen Bradshaw, uncles Jim Helton (Dixie) and Doug Helton (Karla), thirteen nieces and nephews and John Daniels. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Largent, Tom McCarty, David Bishop, Clay Rejcek, Sean Daniels, Owen Trahan, Ernesto DeLafe and Tony Helton. In lieu of flowers, Chris requested that memorial donations be made to foundations that support homeless veterans or any other charitable organization of your choosing.

Letha, Gaile, Johnny, and the Family of Chris. Was so shocked and saddened to learn of Chris's passing. I am not sure if I had ever met Chris, as he was my second cousin, on my dad's side. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Chris's family and friends. May he forever Rest In Peace in God's hands and God Bless his Family.
