A memorial service for Thomas Charles Indian Jr., age 83, of Lake Jackson, will be held at noon on Monday, January 29, at New Beginnings Community Church, 400 N. Dixie Drive in Lake Jackson, with John Haynes officiating. Burial services will be announced at the memorial. Thomas was born on June 25, 1934, in Oneonta, New York, to Thomas and Helen Indian. Moving his family to Lake Jackson in 1974, Thomas was a plant manager at Schenectady Chemical, never missing a day of work and always encouraging his children and grandchildren to be hardworking. After retiring in 1986, he launched Beautiful Lawns Landscaping, for which he was well known in the community. He served on the Lake Jackson city council and Brazosport Petrochemical Council, and was greatly involved in the establishment of Brazos Place in Freeport. His favorite pastime was tending to his rainbow garden. He is preceded in death by his sons, Martin Tyrrell Indian and William (Will) David Indian. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ann Tyrrell Indian of Lake Jackson; son, Thomas and Linda Indian of Lake Jackson; son, John and Sandra Indian of Brazoria; daughter, Cindy and John Ponzi of Lake Jackson, and Erik Indian of Lake Jackson; as well as 11 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers include Dennis Indian, T.J. McAvoy, John Ponzi, Joey Free, Joseph Ponzi, Thomas Indian, Joshua Hinojosa, Christian Indian and Matthew Indian.
