Joyce Ann Walker Gretschel went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 17, 2014.

Visitation services will be at Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Jackson on Monday, April 21 from 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 22 at 10:00 am at Willow Drive Baptist Church, Lake Jackson, with burial service following at Cedar Lawn Cemetary in West Columbia.

Joyce was born to Dan and Grace Walker on June 19, 1939 near Tupelo, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Grace and step-mom Creamone Walker and her sister Jean Walker Warny, all of West Columbia, TX. Her brother John Daniel Walker, Jr., brother-in-law Joe Baumruk and step-sister Laverne Rayburn also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Henry Gretschel of Lake Jackson, son Mike and daughter-in-law Paulette Gretschel of Canyon Lake and daughter Sheri and son-in-law Dennis Edwards of Pearland. Grandchildren Chris and Kellie Gretschel of San Antonio, John and Kim Edwards of Strafford, MO and Jennifer Edwards of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by great grandchildren Tyler, Ryan and baby girl (on the way) Gretschel, Alex, Adam and Peter Edwards.

She is also survived by her sister Debbie and brother-in-law Bob Ed Johnson of Lake Jackson, brother-in-law Glenn Warny of West Columbia and sister-in-law Muriel Baumruck of Katy. Nieces and nephews also known to her as grandkids, Mary and Butch Lambert of Possum Kingdom, Mabel and Mike Willy of Austin, Jeff Warny and Clint Warny of West Columbia, Jared and Shelby Johnson of Katy, Jamie and Chris Glockzin of Lake Jackson. Great nieces and nephews Michelle Lumled, Rene Lutz, Heather Lutz, Heather McDaniel, Nathan Willy, Dena Willy, Tori, Tristen and Tate Warny of MO, Zane Johnson of Lake Jackson and Lylah and Kiley Johnson of Katy, two step-sisters Wilma and Scotty Barnes of Monroe, LA and Margie and Wayne Pollard of West Columbia.

Joyce lived in Lake Jackson for 58 years where she was a member of Willow Drive Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years and worked with the youth. G.G. was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She has touched many lives and will be missed.

Pall bearers will be Chris Gretschel, Jared Johnson, Jeff Warny, Clint Warny, Chris Glockzin, James Hanna and Kurt Blaschke. Hononary pall bearers are Glenn Warny, Jesse Blume, Don Blaschke, Nick Cessarini and Willow Drive TNT Sunday School class.
