Manuel Paiz

Manuel Paiz, 83, of Lake Jackson, Texas went to be with his Lord and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his son's home in Richwood on Friday, January 23, 2015. He was born April 27, 1931 in Santa Rosa, Texas to Jose and Paula Paiz. Manuel was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Connie Paiz; son Bilsen Paiz; and daughter Rosemary Cancino; two sisters Juanita Saldana and Paula Gonzales; one brother Jose Sanchez.

He is survived by his three children, Martin Paiz and wife Melissa of Richwood, Lalo Paiz and Margaret of Lake Jackson, Rosa Briseno of Lake Jackson; Grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Jose Paiz and wife Kay of Lake Jackson; six sisters Simona Soliz; Marta Trevino; Eloisa Cisneros; Lupe Lopez; Ramona Gonzales; Hortencia Cesneros; brother Elijio Sanchez; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Manuel was especially fond of nephew Noel Saldana; Cousins Cecelia and Ruben Gonzales; and Vicky and the late Fred Rodriguez.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Funeral Home with a rosary service at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday January 29th, 2015 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Clute with Father Jim Lynes officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Grandsons Larry Paiz, Joshua Paiz, Roland Cancino, Zachary Cancino, Nephew Joe Anthony Paez and friends Juan Gonzales and Dustan Montoya.

Manuel was a very loving husband, father, grandfather who will be greatly missed and remembered as always someone who never met a stranger and always willing to share a laugh and was a great storyteller. Manuel especially enjoyed his retirement job as crossing guard for Bess Brannan Elementary there he met many friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to IPH Hospice Care; Nurses Lori, Michelle, Sharon and Social Worker Linda Bruce for all their help and support. Also Dr. Dalal and Dr. Shah for always taking great care of Manuel over the years.
