Joe T Olivarez (Popo), 78, of Brazoria, TX fell asleep in death Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was an area resident for 45 years. Although he enjoyed learning and doing various things, he was a welder by trade for many years. Joe never knew a stranger, he was very kind, outgoing, and friendly to everyone he met. In 1978 Joe began to study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses, and started making changes in his life. On July 3, 1982, he dedicated his life to Jehovah by water baptism. He enjoyed having an active share in teaching everyone he met Bible truths. Despite his declining health over the years, he never let that stop him from speaking about his God , Jehovah. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Louisa; his wife of two years, Rachel; and his daughter, Barbara ; a long with his parents, Acencion and Hortencia; four brothers, Esteban, Lupe, Acencion Jr, Ray, and one sister, Olivia. He is survived by his children, Norma (Larry) Hoehne, Joe E. (Mavel) Olivarez, Larry (Julie) Olivarez, Rene Olivarez and Shay Olivarez; as well as eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandkids ; also three sisters, Ramona, Maria, and Juana. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Country Village Care Facilities for taking such great care of our Dad. You treated him as if he was a member of your family, and we are forever grateful for that. We hope you will always remember him, and his love for playing Dominos with the residents. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 608 Karankawa Street, Angleton, TX 77515, with Brother Sam Wax officiating.
