Our Staff

Staff members of Freeport Lakewood Funeral Homes are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.

Richard Turner - Owner/Funeral Director/Mortician

Richard has been a lisc. funeral director since November 8, 1974 and a lisc. embalmer since September 30, 1975. He is also a crematory technician. He is the past president and current treasurer for the Freeport Host Lions Club. Richard is also a member of the After 5 Rotary and is currently serving as vice president. Also Richard is a member of the Velasco Masonic Lodge and the Lake Jackson Masonic Lodge.

Cynthia Turner - Funeral Director

Cynthia has been married to Richard since 1972. She assisted with the phones and clerical work at the funeral home for many years. Cynthia obtained her lisc. as a funeral director on August 28, 1987. Her hobbies include reading and crochet. She is a member of the Church of Christ in West Columbia, Texas.

Krystine Turner - Owner/Funeral Director/Preneed Mangager

Krystine began working at Freeport-Lakewood Funeral Home, Inc. while she was a student at Columbia High School and upon her graduation from CHS she enrolled in Brazosport College to pursue a degree in Law Enforcement. While attending Brazosport College she assumed a broader, more active role with Freeport-Lakewood and realized that working in her family's business was her true calling. She attended and graduated from Commonwealth Funeral Institute in Houston, graduating as an outstanding student. She began working full time at Freeport-Lakewood as an apprentice under the guiding and watchful eyes of her mother and father. Upon completing her apprenticeship, Krystine became a fully licensed Funeral Director and the third generation Turner on the Freeport-Lakewood staff. When the family added Riverside Crematory, Krystine completed the necessary requirements to become a Certified Crematory Operator.

Continuing the Turner family's commitment to service and compassion is Krystine's primary goal in her job. Treating families with respect and understanding during the difficult time of planning a funeral is Krystine's idea of continuing the Turner family tradition of service. "We are a family business serving the families of the Brazosport and Brazoria County area" is the belief of Krystine and the entire Turner family.
