November 10, 1932 - March 1, 2016
- Obituary
- Guestbook
Jeanni went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. She was born to Clifford Bennett and Lula Mae Long Bennett on November 10, 1932, in Borger, Texas.
She met her best friend and love of her life, Troy, and married in 1947. They raised two boys, Troy Jr. and Dean, there until 1959, when they relocated to Angleton where they called home.
She was know and loved by many as simply "Maw Maw" or "that sweet lady." Jeanni was very loving and patient. She was a stay-at-home mom and housewife until they purchased a drive-in grocery store/gas station in 1972, and named it Troy's Grocery. She and long time friend, Silva Bludau, helped Troy manage the store.
After retiring, they purchased a motor home where they loved to travel, never going too far as they loved home life too. She was a hard worker, would give you the shirt off her back and never met a stranger. Jeanni will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Troy Ward Sr.; her son, Dean Ward; and daughter-in-law, Janis Ward; brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memories are son, Troy Ward Jr. (Hazel), of Jones Creek; grandchildren, Troy Ward III, Micah Ward, Samantha Ward McBroom, Anthony Ward and Brian Ward; step grandchildren, Michelle Percle, Al Percle; and 19 great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Jones Creek Baptist Church on Hwy 36. Pastor Brent Pittman will officiate
