Maxine moved to Freeport in 1942 where she met and married Forrest B. Beene on April 24, 1943. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage. She was a member of the First Christian church in Freeport and a member of the Lioness Club before moving to Noblesville, IN to be close to her daughter, Charlotte. Maxine was a wonderful mother and a meticulous homemaker. Maxine loved Freeport and missed being there greatly the last ten years.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (Richard) Snyder; two grandchildren, Bree Anne (Jason) Rummel and Bradley Beene (Courtney) Snyder; four great-grandchildren, Lawson and Sloane Rummel and Scarlett and Pearl Snyder; and a niece and nephew, Nandale Vice and Gary Bowman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2008, Forrest B. Beene and two brothers, Clinton Bowman and Jimmy Dale 'Boots' Bowman.
Services will be held at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel, 98 N. Dixie Dr., Lake Jackson, TX friday, March 11, 2016 with a family reception and viewing 1 PM, service at 2 PM and entombment to follow at Restwood Memorial Park. Maxine's grandson Brad Snyder will preside.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Riverwalk Commons if the loving and kind care they have provided to Maxine.
Maxine and Forrest had requested that memorial contributions may be made to the Texas Lions Camp for Children, Kerrville, TX or a charity of your choice.

Our thoughts are with you at this time of your loss. This is always a tough time in our lives and I understand what you are going through. I am just happy that I was able to visit Maxine when I was in Indiana a few years ago. Bless you and your family.
