Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Key, age 72, of Brazoria will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Rod Coates and Gaylen Jones officiating. Interment will be held at Restwood Cemetery in Lake Jackson. The family will receive friends at Lakewood Funeral Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016.

Jerry Wayne Key was born April 24, 1943 in Tyler Texas to C. M. (Rusty) and Artina Key. He went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21, 2016.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandad and friend to all. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, cook and a master woodworker. Above all he loved his family and the highlight of his year was the annual Key Family Reunion that he hosted at his home in Brazoria. He was a man of his word and commitment was at the top of his priority list. The youngest of five children, Jerry was always the "go to guy" in times of crisis. He was a hard worker and instilled these values in his family. Jerry worked for over 35 years for Bellows Construction in Houston and retired at age 59. He enjoyed his retirement days working in his wood shop and spending time with Judy. Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, C. M. and Artina Key; his wife, Diana Key; son, Donnie Wayne Key; sister, Beth Loven; two brothers, J. T. Key and Loyd Key; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Denise Huerta.

He is survived by two sons, Lonnie Wayne Key and wife, Rhonda, Ronnie Wayne Key and wife, Stephanie; and daughter, Jerri Lynn Alaniz and husband, Macario; very special friend, Judy Fox, and her children, James Fox and wife, Kate, and daughter, Misha Fox; grandchildren, Aaron Toutcheque and husband, Daniel, Crystal Gilbert and husband, Roger, Kathryn, Kyle and Kaylee Key, Zack and Josh Key, Annie Alaniz, Annabella, Seely and baby Fox; and great-grandchildren, Justin Toutcheque, Madisyn and Cody Huerta.

Pallbearers will be James Terry Key, Stacy Key, Bobby Key, Ryan Key, Troy Key and James Fox.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the charity of your choice with a suggestion being The American Cancer Society.
