"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." Proverbs 31:28. Betty Louise Farmer, of Lake Jackson, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 2, 2016, after a long battle with Lymphoma. Services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Lake Jackson, 404 Azalea, Lake Jackson, Texas, with visitation prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at Restwood Cemetery in Lake Jackson. Betty was born on December 8, 1931, to Genevieve and Aldoph Curry in Seabrook, Texas. She was 84 years young! She married her beloved OC Farmer in 1997, and they have loved their life together for nearly twenty years. Bebe and Poppy, as they are affectionately known, dote on their precious poodle, Caddie. Betty loved the outdoors, animals, boating, golfing, and most of all working in her beautiful yard. She cherished the 14 years of working in partnership with Serena in their clothing boutique, Images by serena & betty and the many friendships that continue long after selling the business. Betty also loved cooking, decorating, entertaining and spending time with her friends and family. She volunteered for years with The Gathering Place and found a special place in her heart for this ministry. She is survived by her loving husband, OC Farmer, of Lake Jackson; sons, Dr. Daniel Lynn Millar, of Jones, Oklahoma, Mark Alan Millar (Beverly), of Gunter, Texas; and daughters, Serena Millar Andrews (Gerald), of Lake Jackson, and Anna Michelle "Shelly" Millar, of Lake Jackson. She was also ever so proud of her precious blended children, David Sharp, Christopher Sharp (Claire), Dayna Sharp Carpenter (Steven), Susan Farmer Cade (Rex), Charles Farmer, and Stuart Farmer (Kay). Grandchildren are Robby Carney (Michelle), Christopher Millar, Brittany Sissney (Michael), Rachel Millar, Trevor Andrews (Sydney Marze), Jackson Millar, Natalie Broaddus (Matthew), Misha Sharp, Ashley Sharp, Julie Hofle (Steven), Ryan Cade (Kelli), Chad Cade, Mary Ashley Cade Jimenez (Alex), Andrew Farmer, and Lindsey Farmer Kucera (Justin). Great-grandchildren are Morgan Carney, Ryan Carney, Kara Sissney, Audrey Broaddus, Sabryn Lawrence, Reagan Cade, Miller Cade, Logan Cade, Wyland Hofle, Kennady Hofle and Marley Jimenez. She is also survived by her sister, Genevieve Dickerson; and brother, Al Curry (Ingrid). She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret Nan McKay and Carolyn Farmer Driesbach (Chuck). Pallbearers will be grandsons, Robby Carney, Christopher Millar, Trevor Andrews, Jackson Millar, Ryan Carney, Ryan Cade, Chad Cade and Andrew Farmer. Bebe and Poppy would like to give special thanks and love to Annette Hoss and Barbara Crook who are Bebe's partners' in crime and long time best friends. Also, special thanks to Robert Ponce (who styled her hair for over 40 years!), Twee Huynh (manicurist) and Hao Tau (pharmacist). Bebe considered these people her family. The family requests that any donations be made in Betty's name to The Gathering Place, 1524 E. Mulberry, Angleton, Texas, 77515 or to First United Methodist Church, Lake Jackson, 404 Azalea, Lake Jackson, TX 77566. Arrangements by Lakewood Funeral Homes, Lake Jackson, TX 77566, 979-297-6464.

My condolences to Betty's loved ones. I have known Betty for so many years. We go back to the day's of working at Bridge Harbor. I was in the Accounting Department and Betty would come in quite often (and always with that beautiful smile and bubbly personality). She definitely was a wonderful person to converse with. Later years our children would go to school together.
Betty will definitely be missed, but not forgotten. She had such a way of making everyone she knew feel "special". I feel fortunate to have known Betty. God bless and keep her in His loving arms.
