Wesley Hudgins, 79, of Freeport, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was born September 30, 1937 in Teague, Texas to Horace and Roberta Wheeless Hudgins. He served in the U.S. Airforce. Wes was a member of the Velasco Masonic Lodge #757 and the V.F. W. Post #4341. He was preceded in death by his parents. Wes is survived by his wife, Juanita of Freeport, daughter, Jennifer Hudgins of Sweeny, 1 granddaughter, 2 sisters, Margaret Tichacek of Brazoria, Sydney Jo Wheeless Crosby of Beaumont, 2 step-children: Audrey Allen and Jesus Cardoza Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6pm until 8 pm Tuesday at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Deacon Wallace Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at Gulf Prairie Cemetery with the Brazoria County Honor Guard and Masonic graveside rites.

SydneyJo, Margaret, & Juanita, I am so sorry about Wes' passing. I talked to him quite awhile a few months back, and I told him I was going to come visit soon. That proves we should never put off what we need to do. Wes always made me laugh, and was such a gentleman! I know you will miss him greatly. You are all in my prayers and have my love!
