Dorothy Sandefur Dean, 91, formerly of Angleton passed away Friday, May, 12, 2017. She was born Oct. 22, 1925 to James Patrick and Elizabeth Sandefur in Stamford, Texas. She obtained her bachelors degree in Commercial Art from Texas Tech University and where she met her husband Lloyd George Dean. Dorothy was one of 12 children. (5 girls and 7 boys). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, William Dean, 4 sisters: Myrtle, Alma, Nannie Bell, Temple; 7 brothers: Horace, Penny, Haskell, Vernon, Vick, Glen, and Pat. She is survived by two children: Nancy Mitchell of Houston, Mike Dean of Houston, 3 grandchildren: John Dean, Sean Mitchell, and Sherman Redd, 6 great grand children: Hudson, Harrison, Monroe, Samira, Aryanah, and Aaden. The family will receive friends noon until service time 3:00pm Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with David Dean officiating. Pall bearers will be Sherman Redd, Sean Mitchell, John Dean, and Mike Dean.

Sorry for your loss, I didn't know Dorothy but Horace , Miss Sandefur, and daughters , Dorothy , Betty/Punk, Fay & Bugs. I went to School with them. Worked in the rice fields for Horace. Again sorry for your loss.

God be with my Aunt Dorothy's family and help relieve their sorrow. Aunt Dorothy was a great Aunt and a wonderful sister and friend to my mom, Nannie Belle. She was a caring and generous mother and grandmother and admired by her family and friends.
