Rodney Boyd Reames was born in Nebraska on March 10, 1925 to Virgil Coleman and Annie Boyd (Pipkin) Reames. He passed from this life on August 13, 2017. He fell in love with Bertha Sonnier in 1949. They were married in Lake Charles, Louisiana and celebrated 50 years of marriage before her passing in 1999. He went to Rutgers University and The University of Texas to become a chemical engineer and spent most of his career with Dow Chemical Co. He spent 2 & ½ years in Europe with Dow USA. While living there he gave our family the opportunity to understand different cultures and expand our views on life. He and Mom inspired us to appreciate and learn from all kinds of experiences, even if they weren't fun at the time. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha; his son, Victor Reames; his grandson, Cory Frail, and Cody Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Frail (Mike); granddaughter, Jaime Ribakovs (Talis); grandson, Kelly Reames; daughter-in-law, Teresa Reames; bonus granddaughter, Sarah Alvarado (Jose); great grandchildren, Henry Ribakovs, Lucas Ribakovs, and Cecilia Alvarado. A Special thank you to the whole staff of The Revered Texan Assisted Living Nursing Home. They loved and spoiled "Grandpop"! The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. until service time Friday. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ramona Barr officiating.
