Edward (Eric) Robinson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at his home in Lake Jackson on November 15, 2017. His wife Gail was with him at the time of his passing. Eric was born July 3, 1954 in Hartsville, SC. He was the fifth child of six children born to Lawrence and Ruth Robinson. Eric had a wonderful childhood in South Carolina, hunting and playing with his friends and cousins. At the age of 14, Eric moved to Springville, UT with his family. He loved playing sports (especially football) and hunting in the nearby mountains. He graduated from Springville High School in 1972, then served as a full-time missionary in Chicago, IL for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Eric returned to Utah after his mission and worked construction while attending college. He later graduated from Utah Valley Technical College where he studied instrumentation and electrical technology. Eric met his wife Gail in the fall of 1979 and the two wed in June of 1981. They soon moved to Bakersfield, CA where Eric worked as an Operator for Dowell. In 1983, Eric took a job with Dow Chemical and he and Gail moved their family to Richwood, TX. Eric worked for the next 32 years at Dow and at Olin Corporation for the last two years. Eric enjoyed his job and especially the wonderful friendships he developed with those he worked. Eric was athletic and enjoyed most sports. He played basketball and softball on Dow and city leagues for several years. He was also an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and be in the mountains. He also enjoyed the beach and water skied and snow skied throughout his life. Eric was known for his humor, big heart and kindness and would look for ways to help out others in need. He most loved spending time with his family, and was especially fond of his grandchildren. Eric lived a full life and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services for Eric will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21st, at the LDS Church, 502 Southern Oaks Drive in Lake Jackson. There will be a viewing held the evening before (November 20th) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home, 98 Dixie Drive in Lake Jackson. All are welcome to attend. Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ruth Robinson; and brother, Larry Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Gail (Lake Jackson, TX); daughter, Nicole Passage of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Natalee Springer (Sam) of Parker, CO; and son, Brooks (Leigha) of Rosharon; as well as sister, Jane Adamson (Phil) of St. George, UT, sister, Martha Alden (Eric) of Huntington Beach, CA; brother, Bruce (Marilyn) of Cincinnati, OH; and sister, Pam Bybee (Royce) of Orem, Utah; as well as nine grandchildren, Shaye, Josh, Bryden, Jaxson, Brynlee, Sydnee, Julian, Paige and Christian.

Eric even though we lost track of each other after we started our families,
I always knew we would be friends forever. I look back on our younger
days with fondness, hunting, skiing, going on adventures with fondness.
Your Mom, Dad, Pamela, and Bruce were always worrying about you. I
always knew you would be alright. Gail just needed to point you in the
right direction. I thought maybe we could go skiing up at Sundance with
our kids soon but instead I hear they are opening a new ski resort in the
Celestial Kingdom. Let's do it! I miss you E. E. Robinson. See you on the
other side of the vail some day. Steve

Eric always made us laugh. He found the humor in life. He was always smiling. I was blessed to have an uncle like him. He had unconditional love for his family. He will be missed. He is in good hands with his brother and parents in heaven.

We are so very sorry for your loss! Please know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you! He was the best cousin--so fun and crazy! I remember when I was little and we lived by each other in the country in Pacolet, and it snowed (it hardly ever snowed there), and the schools all closed when it would snow -- he and Bruce made a sled out of the hood of an old car and tied a rope to each side of it to hold on to, and we would get on with one of them and slide down the small hill in front of our house that went into the road. I was really young but I still have that fun memory! He was always smiling and laughing and playing pranks on everyone. My dad would pay him and Bruce money to let him pop their fingers, even though it hurt they'd do it anyway so they could get money, I guess to buy candy. He was such a fun-loving person. I just wish we had lived closer over the years so I could've gotten to know him more in my adult life. A great man! So sorry he is not with us, but it is very comforting to know he is with some of his family members (Larry, his mom and dad, Papaw and Mamaw, Kim), many family members who welcomed him with open arms! Love all of you so much!
