Helen loved to study and teach the Bible, read, sing, make people laugh, garden, crochet, bake, talk, encourage, correspond and to watch golf and old romantic movies and westerns! Helen was so very loved by her family, her brothers and sisters at church, her visiting nurses and caregivers, apartment friends and acquaintances around town and countless friends and family all over the world.
1st Corinthians 15:58 - Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Services to honor Helen's life will be a visitation Thursday, August 23rd 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Her funeral service will be Friday, August 24th 10:00 a.m., at the church of Christ, 402 Center Way in Lake Jackson. There will be a fellowship lunch following the service at the church. The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Park, 4609 N. State Hwy 71, El Campo, TX 77437.
In lieu of flowers checks can be made out to Partners 4 Africa.

I will always remember as a kid thinking how cool it was to have an Aunt that was a missionary in Africa. I told all my friends. I remember how fun it was when Aunt Helen and Donna Marie would visit. When dad (her brother) became a lay speaker in the Methodist Church, he had Aunt Helen listen to his sermons so she could critique and help him improve. Good memories. I will see you again!

An amazing, gracious and fun lady! I can see her doubled in laughter as as she and my dad bantered with each other at Queens Park. Such happy memories! She will be missed.
