Margie C Edwards, 90, of Freeport, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2020 in Red Rock, Texas. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 4:00 7:00 pm at the Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Jackson, Texas. Burial will be Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Parker Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas, officiated by Willie Reagan.

Margie was born September 7, 1929 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She grew up in Laird Hill, Texas near Kilgore. She attend Kilgore College. Upon her marriage to Harry Neal Edwards, she and her family moved all over the world, following her husband through his Navy career. The family settled in Freeport, Texas in 1968. Margie worked as a substitute Librarian for the Brazosport Independent School district, and later became a member of the board for the Friends of the Library for Freeport and for Brazoria County. She also volunteered with the Schuster House. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Freeport, Texas.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents, William Frank Caskey and Zelma Lee Caskey, her husband, Harry Neal Edwards her son, Robert Franklin Edwards, and her sister, Wilda Jean Jay of New Orleans. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Lee Edwards James, of Red Rock, Texas, her son Darrell Neal Edwards, and wife Pamela Leffingwell Edwards of New Braunfels, Texas and her son, Jay Harold Edwards and wife, Julie Leffingwell Edwards of Freeport. She is survived by grandchildren, Kyle Shawn Edwards, Shannon Nicole Edwards, Stella Rae Bradford, Anthony Neal James, Christian Aaron Froberg, Brianna Jaye Doucet, Joshua Lee Edwards, Haley Eden Edwards and Colton Henry Edwards. She is survived by several great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Neal Edwards, Jay Harrold Edwards, Joshua Lee Edwards, and Colton Henry Edwards.
