Raśl Flores Jr., life did not come to an end with heaven gaining a shining light upon his arrival. He peacefully passed away on January 30, 2021 at the age of 65 in Freeport, Texas accompanied by his loving wife of 25 years, Nora Flores; and stepson, Brian Reading (Yessica).

He was known for his gentle, loving and caring heart and for his keen and astute listening ability of all those around him.

He was born in Port Lavaca, Texas June 27,1955, the eldest of nine children to his parents, Raul Flores and Carmen Salinas Flores.

He attended elementary schools in Palacios, Texas and learned to play golf at an early age from his father. He graduated in 1975 from Palacios High School. In 1977, he obtained an associates degree from Wharton Jr. College and honored as Mr. WCJC by his colleagues. He attended Pan AM University in1975 and Southwest Texas State University in1978 with an art focus inspiring the creation of educational materials for Texas educators.

He was a member of Job Corp in 1987. In1994, he was a youth counselor with the Houston Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse in the Camp Twist/Shout Programs servicing young children in Houston, Texas and later served adults in Bay City, Texas. He was an educational paraprofessional from 1998-2008 with Brazosport ISD working with many of the Freeport, Texas youth.

His loving heart will never be forgotten by all those that loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raul Flores, Sr.

A memorial life celebration will be announced at a later date where his cremated ashes will be placed to rest in Bloomington Texas accompanied by immediate family members.

He is survived by siblings, Julia Gonzales (Ruben), Flavio Flores (Christine), Richard Flores (Patricia), Pedro Flores (Diana), Gustavo Flores (Lisa), Carmen Phillips (Walt), Rita Flores, Rita Teresa Flores (Eric Matias); John Reading (stepson) (Donna); along with many nephews and nieces.
