Nash Austin Kidd left this world on April 23rd, 2021, aged 93 years.

Nash was born on March 26, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas to Dwight and Theo Poteet Kidd. At the age of sixteen, he went to work in the old fields to help support the family after the death of his father. After graduating from high school, he attended Texas Christian University, in Fort Worth. He graduated in 1949, with a degree in Chemistry.

In 1950, Nash was hired by Dow Chemical, Texas Division, in Freeport, Texas, as a research chemist. In 1952, he joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, where he was with the Signal Corp laboratory as a chemist.

After his time with the Army, he returned to Dow Chemical, where he worked in polyolefin research.

While at Dow he met and married Angie Mae Ross. They settled in the town of Freeport and raised their four children in a house on Dixie Drive.

After 38 years with Dow, Nash retired but soon found himself bored at home. After sending out his resume, he was hired as a contractor by Union Carbide, in Seadrift, Texas. He and Angie then moved to Victoria, Texas.

In 2006, after the death of his wife, Nash moved to Georgetown, Texas, and settled into a new home with his daughter, Carol. There he spent his time reading, watching football, and enjoying the companionship of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Nash is preceded in death by his father, Dwight; and his mother, Theo; one brother, Dr. Morgan Kidd; and sister, Deah Piccilo; and one son, Jarrett J. Kidd.

He is survived by two sisters, Carol Sue King, of Glen Rose, Texas, and Martha McAlister, of Cuero, Texas; one daughter, Carol Kidd, of Georgetown, Texas; son William Kidd and wife, Mary, of Leander, Texas; and son, Dr. Kenneth Blake Kidd, of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services, and interment, will be held in Lake Jackson, Texas.

I didn't know Nash was on the army! But that's my fault, as it wasn't political or molecular in nature, and I didn't drag it out of'em 😏. So many memories, beer and arm wrestling, the Nash facial expression of icredulity, being tricked into eating one of his homegrown "sweet" peppers. Good journey Nash, have some fun.

Uncle Nash you taught me a lot about growing up and making my own decisions. You and Aunt Angie were so good to me for many reasons, there is so many stories I remember when I moved to Freeport and you helped me get on with Dow, a many of a time I always regretted leaving and going back to Florida with the main reason being I felt like I let you down but you were always there to be my wonderful Friend and Uncle.
I Love You, Uncle Nash and you will be missed so much, but your with your Wife and Mama & Daddy, I hope Heaven doesn't have those Florida Nans and Mosquitoes, you know what I'm talking about. RIP
