Wayne graduated from Angleton High School in 1973. He was a member of the United States Army from 1974 to1977. He served in Korea and the DMZ. He was awarded the National Defense service Medal; Good Conduct Medal; and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). He worked as a salesman with a manufacturing company for more than 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. He dreamed of seeing the California Redwoods after he retired, and was able to share that dream in May with his son Travis, despite his declining health.
Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his son, Travis Stansel and wife Heather, his 3 grandchildren Lacy, Triston and Holden; his parents, Garland and Melba Stansel, his brother, David Stansel, his sister Connie Dunn and husband Barry, his brother Larry Stansel; his sister Susie Potts and husband John, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
The family will hold a Celebration of Wayne's Life at Garland and Melba's home in Angleton at noon on Sunday, July 18, 2021.
