I learned of Roy's passing only yesterday. He was an exceedingly kind soul, and always upbeat. We would spend a lot of time talking about the history of science and mathematics. These were joyful conversations, and I always came away knowing more than before. I missed seeing Roy at work after I retired, but we ran into each other occasionally when we were out and about in the community. Happy memories. I miss him.
