Gerald was born in Bryan, Texas on January 16, 1949 and died on April 18, 2022 in Lake Jackson. He grew up in the Clute/Lake Jackson area. He worked in the HVAC business for many years. Gerald had many happy memories of time spent in Edge and Benchley, Texas with his grandparents and cousins, who he loved like siblings. He loved hunting and fishing, spending time outdoors and Texas Aggie football and baseball. He was a very talented wood worker and created many treasures from scrap cedar fence planks. Gerald loved spending time with friends and family and had a great sense of humor. He was a gifted story teller and loved to reminisce and tell stories from his childhood and from vacations he and Kathy took with friends and family.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Kathy Ginn Riley, his sister, Bobbie Guilbeaux, aunts Cheryl Cobb (Ralph) and Jean Riley, and sister-in-law Jodie Stewart (Larry). He is also survived by several beloved cousins, Eight (8) nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Kathleen Riley, his parents-in-law Thad and Kay Ginn and his brother-in-law, Jeff Ginn.
The family is grateful to A-Med Hospice caregivers, Brenda and Danielle for the care and compassion shown to Gerald.
