after many years of living with complications from a brain aneurysm and dementia.
Marion Herman Blessing was born on September 13th, 1938 and was the youngest of five boys. Herman's early years were relatively unbridled and free spirited and most of his friends have dozens of stories they can tell about his legendary antics. Some of these stories revolve around his athletic exploits as Herman was a gifted, natural athlete that loved to compete in just about any sport, though many will remember him as a talented and scrappy softball player. As a young adult Herman found employment with Entex where he worked for 35 years and formed many life-long friendships. During this time he also met and married the love of his life, Judy Blessing, whom he was married to for 51 years. His time with Judy marked a time in his life when Herman transitioned to a kind, devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed being active with the kids and grandkids. He coached several years of little league baseball and attended hundreds of games to watch his kids and grandkids play various sports. Herman was also an avid outdoorsman and cherished his time in the rugged outdoors. Herman enjoyed any chance he got to go hunting or fishing and spent countless days and nights on hunting ranches
spending time with friends and family. Numerous Thanksgivings were spent around the camp
feasting with family and friends and rigging televisions so we could watch the Longhorns play.
Always resourceful and capable, Herman had a knack for making the most of any situation.
Anyone who knew Herman knew him to be authentic, down to earth and friendly. Even in his last days the nurses would remark on his kind disposition. His smile will forever live on in our
memories.
He is survived by a loving family: his wife Judy, daughter Shelley Swanson, son Chad Blessing,
stepson Tony Whistler, stepdaughter Terri Lee and many grandchildren, great grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends who were his extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents James and Birdie and three of his four brothers, Gene,
Ted and John "Bud" Blessing.

Just want the family to know how much it meant to me growing up next door to Herman. Herman was the kindest most sincere person you could ever meet.He always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. He treated everyone of us kids as if we were his. He and Judy made a lifetime of memories with the Sydow family and for that I am eternally grateful. Rest In Peace Herman and if you happen to run into my dad give him a hug from me.. Love you always
