Rex Thomas Sherrill, son of Clyde Sherrill and Bessie Luster, was born on 20 Aug 1920 in Tulsa, Tulsa Co, OK and died on 25 Dec 1998 in Claremore, Rogers Co, OK. Graveside service will take place at Glencoe Cemetery Association South. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rex married Jacque Laverne Kelley Clark on March 31,1951 in Arkansas City, KS. They would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in March.

Rex served in the US Army during WWII as well as the Korean Conflict. He earned a Purple Heart for his bravery during time of war. He suffered for many years from frost bite after his service in WWII.

After retiring from the Army, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years and eventually retired from that as well only to then take a job working for Oklahoma State University in their mail department. He worked there until Alzheimer's' took its toll.

Rex loved to golf, fish, go to garage sales and spend time with his grandkids. He was a natural born grandpa.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Jacque Sherrill; two daughters, Pam Human and her husband Wayne, Rexane Duke and her husband M.L.; one son, Gregory Sherrill and his wife Martha Sherrill; six grandchildren, Angela Human, Scott Sherrill and his wife Megan, Amanda Flores, Brad Sherrill, Amber Duke, Corey Duke and numerous great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
