August 5, 1968- May 24, 2023 (54)
We are sad to announce the passing of Rita Bailey White Ullom of Freeport, Texas on May 24, 2023. Rita lost her battle with Autoimmune Hepatitis (Liver Disease) surrounded by loved ones after fighting the disease for over a year. Rita was born in Freeport, Texas on August 5, 1968. She was the first child, and only daughter of Jim and Gail Bailey.
Rita will be remembered as a mother, daughter, wife, granny and volunteer for various organizations. She volunteered as ''Room Mom'' and chaperoned numerous field trips at Jane Long Elementary and Lanier Middle School. Rita coached several softball teams with the Freeport Girls Softball Association and served as a member of the organization's Board. Rita was active with the Brazosport High School Band Boosters for decades, spending countless hours at the Brazoria County Fair Sausage on a Stick Booth and hemming uniforms for marching band season. She spent her family time at Jim's Hunting Club in Belott, Texas where she enjoyed hunting, cooking and the tree lined views at the cabin. Rita had a lifelong love for animals and Boston Terriers truly stole her heart; she had three at the time of her passing, Ginger, Maryann and Gilligan.
Rita was preceded in death by her Father James (Jim) Robert Bailey, Aunt Marcia Burke, Uncle Bill Zuelke and Grandparents Walter and Grace Bailey and Dale and Alice Zuelke.
Rita is survived by her Mother Gail Z Bailey; Husband Bobby Ullom Sr.; Daughters Amber, Brandy and Casey White (Children with her first husband, Robert White); Son-in-law Colton Edwards, Stepchildren Robert Jr., Ashlea, and Alyssa Ullom; Brother Kyle Bailey; Aunt Diane Hester, Uncle Larry and Aunt Pat King, Uncle Fritz and Aunt Al Bailey. She was Granny to her Step Grandchildren Kaley, Hailee, Kambree, Casen, Harlee, Walter, Wade, Dorothy, Aiden, Ariel, and David. Her bonus family members include Sandra and Vicki Sandoval, Jeff Warny and Kristie Moore. Rita leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews as well. Additionally, Rita had several Granddogs, Cowboy, Mayson, Waffles, Meatloaf, Sampson, Paxton, Remi, and Macaroon that enjoyed spending time at ''Granny's House'' as often as they could.
The Family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, CNAs and other members of the care team at Methodists Hospital in Houston for caring for Rita with such compassion and skill.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a charity that supports animals or children in her name. A non-profit in her honor is currently in the works of establishment, the goal of the organization will be to support the medical needs of animals.
At Rita's request, there will not be a formal funeral or memorial service, she ask for loved ones to celebrate her life daily.

My heart breaks for Rita's immediate family, and I pray that the family can find peace in the days to come. I will forever cherish our random lunch dates from when I was pregnant as well as our random phone calls of you checking on me and to see how the kids were doing. Thank you for all of the guidance, life lessons, and love that you gave me! I love you, see you again one day!
