Barbara Edge went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2023. Barbara was born August 25, 1948 to Arlene and Harvey Wheeler, Sr. in Jackson, Mississippi. In 1978 she married Lawrence Edge and moved to Lake Jackson.

Barbara is preceded in death by her mother and father; and her loving husband, Lawrence Edge; and first born son, Antony Edge

She is survived by son, Joseph Lloyd Edge (wife, Martha); sister, Sylvia Dubose, of Lake Jackson and Liz Harlson, of Brookhaven, Mississippi; brother, Harvey Wheeler (wife, Sharon), of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Malcolm Wheeler, of Flowood, Mississippi; Brother in law Winston Edge ( wife Susan) nephews, Casey Wheeler, Joey Wheeler, Ethan Wheeler, Garylen Herring; Stephen Edge ( Wife Sarah) David Edge ( Wife Heather), nieces, Kim Kitchens, Pam Garza, Tiffany Paultte, Myra Phillips, Rhonda, Scott, and Emily Carney ( husband David). With many Great Nieces and Great Nephews.

Barbara was a hard worker and fighter who wouldn't back down from a challenge. She loved her friends and family and all of their children. She worked for 30 years at Memorial Child Care Center where she greeted the children every morning at 6:00 a.m. Barbara often kidded that she had only one son but she also had many other children who were like her own. She always encouraged them and cheered them on all through their lives. Barbara was that friendly face that the children loved seeing each morning. She will live on in the hearts of many for her kindness and thoughtfulness.

Visitation will be Wednesday December 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Freeport, Texas. The funeral service will be on Thursday, December 21st at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Restwood Memorial Park in Lake Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Shaun Wheeler and Stacey Kitchens, Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Carson, Harvy Wheeler, Mack Wheeler, Butch Kelley, Dwayne Carson.
