In loving memory of, Betty Lou Petersen, who passed away on March 4, 2024. She was born April 25, 1940 in Wharton, Texas. She was the devoted wife of Donald Gene Petersen and loving mother of Donald Petersen Jr. and Lance Kevin Petersen. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Betty was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Betty was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Lillie Horelica, in-laws Arnold and Ruth Petersen, brother Tilford Horelica and his wife Autrey Horelica, brother in-law Elwin Petersen. She is survived by her husband Donald Petersen, sons Donald Petersen Jr. and Lance Petersen, granddaughter Jessica Perez and husband Joe Perez Jr., grandson Brian Petersen, granddaughter Kayla Petersen, her sisters Doris Brown and husband Ed and Lulu Pinchback and husband Tony, sister in-law Sandra Petersen and many generations of nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her friends in her local bunco and card groups.
The funeral service will be held at Brazosport Global Methodist Church Lake Jackson on March 8, 2024 at 10:00am. Visitation will be Thursday, March 7, 2024 between 6:00pm and 7:00pm at Lakewood Funeral Chapel.
Betty, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
