Gail was born on November 14, 1950, in Freeport, Texas, to Ennis Jefferson (EJ) and Edna Tribble. She lived with her parents and brother Ronald Tribble in Freeport until the family moved to Brazoria, Texas. She attended Brazosport High School and after graduating in 1969, she eventually moved to the Houston area. It was in Houston, where she put down roots and dedicated her life to raising her two sons, Travis and Justin.
In Gail's early professional career, she worked as an executive administrative assistant for an oil and gas company and a trucking company. She eventually moved into the medical field where she worked her way up from being an administrative assistant to being a Director of Clinics for Memorial Hermann Healthcare Systems. During her career, Gail saw the need for a college degree so while raising two young boys and working full time, she put herself through college, graduating summa cum laude from LeTourneau University.
Gail was a devoted and caring mother but the greatest joy in her life came when she became "Mimi". She cherished the time she was able to spend with her three grandsons and granddaughter. She loved traveling and was overjoyed to go on several family trips with her son Justin and his family. She also loved taking trips to California to see her son Travis and her two grandsons Ian and Kyle. She often talked about how these were the best times of her life.
Gail will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her oldest son, Travis Tarver of Fairfield, CA, and youngest son, Justin Tarver, and wife Wendi of League City, TX. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Tribble, and wife Barbara Tribble of Lake Jackson, TX, as well as her grandsons Aidan, Ian, and Kyle Tarver, and granddaughter Brooklyn Tarver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and several uncles and aunts whom she cherished dearly.
A celebration of her life will be held in Gail's honor on Monday, June 10th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Chapel, 98 Dixie Dr., Lake Jackson, Texas 77566. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation at michaeljfox.org.
