Bro Hobby was "one of a kind"! I always enjoyed serving with him as a fellow minister in the Gulf Coast Baptist Association. After retirement, I would often see Bro Hobby around Brazoswood High School where he was a substitute teacher.
He was always friendly, outgoing, smiling and happy. He truly loved the Lord, and loved people!
He is already missed!

Hobby and Lila have touched so many lives and were great friends to both of my parents. He will be greatly missed, but as Lila knows, he is in a much better place now. As Paul stated, take comfort in knowing that the dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Brother Hobby led me from unbelief to Christ in his office in 1970. He married Linda and I in 1973. He had lots of smiles and his faith was a great example. I remember him as someone who worked hard and dedicated his life to serving.
Lila, I am so glad Linda and I got to see y'all last year. I wish we had taken more time earlier in our lives to keep contact. Our prayers are for you and your family.
