Todd Anthony Roundtree

of Angleton, TX

December 3, 1960 - August 5, 2024

  • Obituary
  • Guestbook
Todd Roundtree, age 63, was reunited with his Heavenly family on August 5, 2024, after a battle with Hepatosplenic T-Cell Lymphoma. He passed away peacefully at his home in Angleton, TX surrounded by his wife and family.

He was born in Thibodaux, LA to Ellis Jr. and Jo Ann Roundtree, who then moved to Texas in 1962.

Todd had a strong work ethic. Starting at age 14 he worked at various jobs until 1984 when he went to work for Dow Chemical. He was a member of the Local Union 564. He worked in the Versene block as a process operator for 40 years until his passing. He thought highly of his work family and made many lasting friendships during his career.

Todd was a man of integrity. He loved and put his family first and his friends a close second. The Lord blessed him with many talents and skills which he used to help and teach anyone he could. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a google of knowledge. He was our MacGyver. He was a skilled carpenter and restored antiques and old phonographs. He could fix most anything and loved a challenge.

Todd was an extremely talented artist and created many free hand drawings and logos. He was crafty, and an amazing tailor, creating many outfits and doing alterations for his family and friends. He enjoyed restoring old cars and was a member of Brazoria County Car Club. He showed his '63 Pontiac in car shows and toured his 1926 original Ford Model T Coupe all over Texas.

He was a western fanatic and history buff. He loved nothing more than touring Texas and Tombstone, AZ with his padner Russell and making friends with others who shared his interest in the old west. He was a stand in extra and had a few parts in several short films. He had an authentic western persona with a mustache to match.

He was a fabulous cook. He could even make tasty concoctions out of leftovers. No one made beef tips and rice, gumbo, or chicken and dumplings like he could. We will miss waking up to the smell of breakfast, homemade biscuits and coffee ready and waiting. His thanksgiving feasts and on and on. Oh, what a cook!

Although he was accomplished in many areas his greatest passion was dancing. He was a graceful and smooth dancer who loved to go scoot boots with his wife most every weekend for the last 19 years. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to cross his path, but none more than his wife and family. Todd, my life was forever changed the day we met, and will be forever changed since the day you left. Until we are united again; save the last dance for me!

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Jr. and Jo Ann Roundtree, his grandparents, and Paul Borel.

He is survived by his loving wife Doanie Roundtree, daughter Brenna (Jacob) Matthews, grandchildren Jacob ''Jr.'' Matthews, Aubree, and Gunner. His brothers Ted, Troy, and Trent (Dana) Roundtree. His Godmother Geri Caro. Nephews and nieces Callen, Rhett, and Sarah Jo Roundtree. His Bonus Mother ''Momma Sue'' (Borel) Roundtree and siblings Susan (Wes) Griggs, Melinda, and Bud Borel. His fur babies Bella and Cleo, and many other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are the Roundtree men: Ted, Troy, Trent, Callen, Rhett, and Jacob Matthews.

Honorary pallbearers are Chip Zenker, Russell Bland, Jim Ruhmann, Rick Hays, Jose Cepeda, and Jacob ''Jr.'' Matthews.

A special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of MD Anderson, IPH Hospice Care, Fred Ortiz of Help Inc., and Jose and Jessica Cepeda.

A Celebration of Life Honoring Todd Roundtree will be held at Lakewood Funeral Chapel, 98 N. Dixie Dr. Lake Jackson, TX 77566, on Saturday August 17, 2024. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. and funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Following graveside, the family would like to welcome everyone back to the Lakewood hospitality room for food and fellowship.

I had the honor of working with Todd for 11 years. He was a great friend, co-worker and overall great person. My nickname for him was ToddGyver because he could fix/repair anything, could make food dishes out of leftovers, along with a ton of other skills he possessed. He will definitely be missed. rest in peace Toddy

Doanie, you waited a long time to find your true soulmate, and in Todd, you found a rare and precious treasure. The bond you shared was so special, a perfect match of two kindred spirits. Todd was the embodiment of a true western gentleman - full of integrity, talent, and a heart that touched everyone he met. My heart breaks knowing your time together was cut short, but I have no doubt that Todd entered heaven with the same grace and strength that he carried with him on earth. I love you, and you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that Todd's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know him. ❤️
