Shoko Small, 79, of Lake Jackson, TX, passed away peacefully at her home with her three loving children by her side, Sunday 9/29/2024. Shoko was born in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Japan on November 15, 1944. In 1965, she married her Navy husband, Joe Small, and they moved to the United States. As a devout Buddhist, Shoko was very committed to her SGI community, and the lifelong friends she made as an active member.

Shoko was a loving wife to late Joe Small for 60 years, and a nurturing mother to Stacey, Milo, and Chris. As well as a wonderful grandmother to Nathan, Kristen, Christopher, CJ, Bryan, and Ruby; and a great grandmother to Khole and Journey.

Shoko enjoyed gardening, cooking for her loved ones, and was a natural caretaker to all. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her, and will be remembered for her honesty, kindness, loyalty and loving nature.

To honor Shoko's wishes, there will be no funeral service. I invite you to please privately celebrate Shoko's memory in your own ways. I know that she will be with us all in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
