Lawrence (Larry) Michael Wagner of Lake Jackson passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Vassar High School in 1989, served in the Navy aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, then later became a chef after attending culinary school. Larry lived his best life in New Orleans where he pursued his love of cooking and hospitality. Jackson Square in New Orleans was where he married the love of his life, Holly.

Larry never met a stranger. He will always be remembered for his love of family, wonderful friendships, and his very infectious laugh. He loved football, both college and NFL. He cheered GO BLUE on Saturdays, and WHO DAT on Sundays! When Larry was young, he cheered for the Detroit Lions. Until the day he passed away, he secretly held out hope for the Lions to go to the Super Bowl. Larry also enjoyed relaxing at the beach and tailgating with family and friends.

Many thanks to the ENT Oncology team at the UTMB/MD Anderson Campus in League City. The compassion and care they provided over these difficult last five years was second to none. Also, we couldn't have done it without the exceptional team at IPH Home Health. Lastly, Lake Jackson EMS, St. Luke's Brazosport ER and ICU teams for the care you provided in his final hours.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence ''Skip'' Wagner; paternal grandparents, Russ and Leone Wagner; and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Sierko.

He is survived by his loving wife, Holly Wagner; honorary daughter, Victoria ''Tori'' Carr; his mother, Joy Wagner; his sisters, Tracey (Steve) Prokos, Kim (Rick) Gamet and Deb (Jeff) Tyson; in-laws, Ronald & Cheryl Sholty; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Ted) Schlegel; brother-in-law, Cody (Lisa) Engler; several nephews, nieces, great-nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins; many friends who are chosen family; his beloved dog, Nola Mae; and kittos, Dakota T., Roux, and Gumbeaux.

Per Larry's wishes, he was cremated and wanted no funeral service. His family, honorary family, and friends will celebrate his life at a yet to be determined date.

Larry was such a unique individual, and I appreciated his free spirit. It always tickled me he'd call out of the blue … ''How are you, cousin?!'' That smile and that laugh … infectious! In spite of broken hearts, it is impossible to think of Larry and not smile. My love and hugs to the entire family! ♥️
