Celebrating A Life Well-Lived
Leslie Carlton Brown was born on August 21, 1964 to Mrs. Sara Weaver Brown in Houston, Texas. On February 22, 2025, our precious Carl was taken from us and strolled the Stairway to Heaven. Carl had a wonderful sense of humor, never met a stranger, had a zest for life and was always ready for an adventure.
Carl attended high school at Aldine Contemporary Education Center in Houston, Texas. Carl knew from a young age that he wanted to be an electrician. Upon completion of high school, Carl became a Journeyman Electrician that would serve as his lifelong occupation until his retirement in 2025. Carl's passion for his trade was unmatched and he found true fulfillment in the work he did every day. Carl had an outstanding work ethic, integrity and built long lasting friendships with many of his clients and colleagues.
Carl had many hobbies in life. Thanks to his beloved Grandpa Weaver, Carl developed an enjoyment for hunting and fishing. He enjoyed the thrill of being outdoors but always found peace being outdoors. Carl was an excellent cook and found joy while cooking for family and friends. Carl enjoyed listening to classic rock, red dirt country and zydeco tunes. His love of music took him to many concerts throughout his lifetime. He was eagerly awaiting to see Kid Rock on April 19, 2025 in Kansas City with his wife. Carl also loved traveling, whether it was visiting his family and friends. He enjoyed weekend getaways or just burning out somewhere new and exciting. Carl looked forward to seeing the Amalfi Coast in Italy in July with his wife. If there was an adventure and fun to be had Carl was the one person that you could alway count on! As our Carl would say, ''I ain't scared'' and just laugh. Carl's laugh was infectious.
Carl's true love in life was his family. Carl enjoyed every moment he spent with his loved ones. His mother, Sara, was the apple of his eye. Carl's mother played a crucial role in shaping Carl's values and beliefs. She instilled in him the values of kindness, honesty, and empathy, which he carried throughout his life. Carl always had deep admiration for his brother Cliff. They were each other's first best friend, learning valuable lessons about compassion, love, forgiveness, and compromise just by virtue of being brothers. And if you've been privileged enough to witness this bond, you know it's deep and indestructible. Carl often expressed that being a father is one of life's greatest joys, and watching his children grow into adults was both humbling and inspiring for Carl. Weaver and virtue of being brothers. And if you've been privileged enough to witness this bond, you know it's deep and indestructible. Carl often expressed that being a father is one of life's greatest joys, and watching his children grow into adults was both humbling and inspiring for Carl. Weaver and Kaylie were pure love for Carl. When Carl would speak of his children, those blue eyes would light up and he would smile ear to ear. He loved to share memories, stories and time with his children. Becoming a grandfather did not change Carl. He was definitely not the traditional grandad, no Carl was the cool grandad. Carl with a smile, goofy expression, or silly saying made his granddaughter, Avery light up. Carl made an incredible impact on his grandson Sean's life by instilling values and skills that Sean will need to carry him through life. Carl will be walking side by side with his grandchildren holding theirs hands as they navigate through this life without him. On October 12, 2025, Carl married the love of his life, Kim. Their relationship was built on a firm foundation of friendship for over twenty years. They were made for each other, they knew how to hold each other up and fiercely protective of the love they had for each one. They fell in love when Kim finally found the courage to throw caution to the wind and lay one heck of a kiss on his lips in a hospital parking lot on July 28, 2023. They never looked back. They found comfort, peace and safety in each other. They finally got it right and built a life together filled with love and laughter.
