December 28, 1965 - April 3, 2025
Joe Hawkins went to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the age of 59.
Joe was born on December 28, 1965, in Coweta, Oklahoma, to Patrick and Helen Hawkins. From a young age, Joe was known for his intelligence, honesty, reliability, and hard work. His deep loyalty, strong sense of responsibility, and leadership were evident in how he approached his work, maintained his relationships, and cultivated his mind.
Joe loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and ''roughing it'' were some of his greatest joys. He
didn't tolerate foolishness or laziness, but he had a generous heart and would drop everything to
help a friend or loved one without hesitation. He was a man who didn't complain, didn't ask for
handouts, and never shied away from hard work. Over the years, Joe shared his deep knowledge of the chemical industry with countless co-workers, ''raising'' many along the way. He retired from a long and successful career at Dow and was most recently employed by Freeport LNG.
Though a man of few words, Joe loved well thought-out, mischievous pranks on his family, friends, and co-workers. He had an unwavering love for the Lord, even when the road got tough. He worked hard, played hard, and loved even harder. That was Joe.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Amber Sirmans Hawkins, his children, Joseph P. ''Buddy''
Hawkins (Hannah), Haley Hawkins (Travis), Jerry and Joseph Spears. He is also survived by his brother, Hugh Hawkins (Angie), sisters Sheila Olvera and Catherine Bullard, his cherished grandchildren Brandon, Annabelle, and Valyntina, and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Patrick Hawkins and Helen Hawkins, great nephew Owen Bullard, and great niece Kendall Lasseter.
Serving as pallbearers are: Hugh Hawkins, Buddy Hawkins, Eddie Cornelius, Bubba Achille, Thomas Vanier and Larz Bullard.
A visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Jackson, on Wednesday, April 16th from 11am -1pm. Final arrangements are entrusted to the Turner Family at Lakewood Funeral Chapel.

Work, fishing, hunting, swapping stories around the
campfire, and even discussing Greek philosophy.
Not much we didn't discuss at some point over the years.
I am a better man for knowing you Joe.
Rest in peace my friend.

We are so very sad to learn of Joe's untimely death. We knew him when he was a young man and last saw him in 2018 when we visited his mom shortly before her death. He was so kind, polite and friendly and he will be greatly missed by his Oklahoma family. Our condolences to all who loved him.
