Funeral services for Larry W. Goodbread Sr., age 74, of Jones Creek, Texas will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Lakewood Funeral Home with Brother Brent Pittman officiating.

The family will receive friends at Lakewood Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2011.


Larry Goodbread was born on May 14, 1937, in Freeport, Texas. He was raised as a Master Mason at Velasco Lodge #757, where he also served as Worshipful Master.

He went on to receive degrees in both York Rite and Scottish Rite Masonry and he also received his KCCH degree. He was a member of El Mina Shrine Temple and served as Potentate in 1990.

He was an original member of the El Mina Braz Clowns and enjoyed making children smile at the Shrine Burns Institute.

He is preceded in death by his father, James E. Goodbread Sr.; step-mother, Edith Goodbread; mother, Woodward Dykes Miller; and step-father, Walter L. Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Becky Goodbread; son, Larry Wayne Goodbread Jr. and Donna Moore; daughter, Kathy Goodbread Johnson; and brother, David Goodbread and wife, JoAnn. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Khristin New, Jessica Rollo, Janna Rollo, Melissa Moore, Jillian Goodbread and Darby Johnson; and many nieces and nephews; and cousins. He is also survived by his faithful companions, Lola and Brother
