Katie was preceded in death by husband Allen Rasberry, Jr. and infant son Mahlon Thomas Rasberry.
She is survived by her son James Rasberry and wife Judi of Katy, Texas;
and son Glenn Rasberry and wife Dorothy of Houston, Texas,
Katie was the beloved grandmother of Eric Rasberry and wife Tori of Houston, Texas, Robin Bundick and husband Jason of Lake Jackson, Texas, Greer Coulter and husband James of Houston, Texas and Randy Rasberry of Tomball.
Bringing her such joy were her great grandchildren Taylor, E.J. Jansen, Lydia, Hagen, Colby James, Preston, Randy, Orion, and Tylor.
She is also survived by her beloved nieces Faye and Mildred and their families from North Carolina, the extended family of Bobby Rasberry and her sister-in-law, Barbara Whitehead and family of Round Rock.
Being active in the Brazosport area for many years, Katie and Allen Rasberry owned Rasberry Supermarkets in Freeport and Jones Creek and were members of Jones Creek Baptist Church. Katie served Christ in her later years as a member of Queens Road Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas. After retiring from A T & T, Katie continued to stay active by working the concession stands for all of BISD sports as she had for 30+ years. She had an incredible amount of energy and loved serving people. She leaves a legacy of giving, hard work and of compassion for others, always putting them before herself. She emulated Christ and her kind spirit will be missed by those who were blessed to have known her.
The family will receive friends 6pm to 8pm Tuesday at Lakewood Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Lakewood Chapel . Interment will be at Vandenburg Cemetery in Chicot, La.
