Born February 6, 1922 in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Isaac & Lottie Futch, Bobbie Greene as their youngest daughter. As family members moved into Brazoria County in the early 1900s, Bobbie Greene began to spend summers with her many relatives and friends in Alvin, Jones Creek, Freeport and Brazoria. In 1945 Bobbie was pushed, shoved and dragged to a party by her sister and there met the love of her life and eternal dance partner, Robert Anderson (Bobby) Freeman. Until his death 56 years later Bobbie lived a life of love and laughter that remains a shining example to our growing family.
Bobbie and Bobby married June 15, 1946 and in 1951 moved to Lake Jackson bringing their family and soon thereafter her mother and father. In one of the three bedroom, one-bath homes of early Lake Jackson, Bobbie managed a house full of love, laughter, and happiness among the struggles and long bathroom lines.
Bobbie Greene was widely recognized for her strikingly beautiful white hair and kindness. Music and dance were special to Bobbie Greene, with one of her first jobs being a dance instructor. She had many close friends from her and her husband's early work at Dow, the countless ball games and boxing matches, weddings, births, reunions and life celebrations she so enjoyed. She will always be an example to her sons and daughter for her care and tenderness. She was the core for so many extended family members and we all join in the celebration of her life.
Together, Bobbie and Bobby lived a life full of joy, dance and travel and were blessed with the ability to travel the globe together, allowing her to see sights and have experiences that few have enjoyed. And enjoyed she did.
Bobbie lost Bobby in 2002 and is survived by son Robert (Thailand), son Steve and fiancée Shelley (San Leon), daughter Carol Sebesta (Angleton), son Mark and wife Pam (San Antonio), son Matt and wife Julie (San Antonio). Her 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren living coast to coast will always miss her. Each loving her more than words can say.
Our family will always love and remember Bobbie Greene as the cornerstone of our lives and a shining example of love, commitment, strength and the courage to live a full life every day.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Freeman, Craig Freeman, Chris Freeman, Bret Wandel, Kevin Freeman, Tommy Palmer, Matt Gamez, Bill Hicks, David Shores, Michael Oliver and Ty Freeman.
Funeral services for Bobbie will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 16 at Gulf Prairie Presbyterian Church in Jones Creek, Texas with Thomas Wessman officiating.
The family will receive friends at Lakewood Funeral Chapel on Sunday, April 15 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Bobbie's house was always filled with laughter and joy. She and Bobby were like second parents to so many people. Their door and hearts were always open. Bobbie will be greatly missed, but she is reaping her reward for a life well-lived. May God give all the Freemans extra strength and comfort to fill this void here on earth. Hold close your lovely memories of her.

I remember my great-aunt Bobbie Greene with loving admiration. She was an incredible inspiration to me of living with exuberant joy, genuine interest in the lives of friends and family, and trusting God. The picture I will carry in my memory will be of her close to Bobby's side, and both of them laughing heartily. Together they were truly a team that chose to make life an adventure. I am also especially thankful for the way they remained in my life after all my grandparents died. Love, Mary Beth Schlegel Renfrow and family

Mrs. Freeman along with her late husband was one of the cornerstone families in Lake Jackson. As a kid growing up in LJ, Mrs. Freeman was always at the ballpark supporting her kids in their athletic endeavors. She will be a great loss for many. Randy and Paula White
