A celebration of the life of Alice Joyce Forse McCutchen of Lake Jackson, Texas will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 10:00 a.m. at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel. The Reverend Geller of First United Methodist Church Lake Jackson will preside.

Mrs. McCutchen died in the family home on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. She was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, September 20, 1930 to Jewel Cecil and Patsy Hill Forse. Joyce grew up in Nacogdoches and was a 1948 graduate of Nacogdoches High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Stephen F. Austin University in 1952.

Joyce and her twin sister, Patsy moved to Lake Jackson, Texas to begin their teaching careers at Lake Jackson Elemenatry where Joyce taught 3rd grade. They were both members of the local singles group and it was there that Joyce met her devoted husband to be, Charles William McCutchen.

Joyce and Bill were married in the First United Methodist Church Lake Jackson on June 10th, 1956 and would have celebrated 56 years of marriage in June.

Joyce was a devoted and loving mother to their son, David William McCutchen of Coppell and daughter Karis Ann McCutchen of Lake Jackson. As the children grew older Joyce embarked into a second career as a Tupperware Dealer and became a highly successful Tupperware Director.

Additionally, she was an avid quilter and member of the Lake Jackson quilting guild. Her church home was First United Methodist Church where she served as a member of the Altar Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Patsy Forse, twin sister Patsy Nichols; brothers John Forse and Clarence Forse.

Survivors include her husband Charles William McCutchen, son David William McCutchen and wife June and gransons, Keegan and John, all of Coppell and granddaughter Lindsay Hogan of Madison, Wisconsin; daughter Karis Ann McCutchen and granddaughter Emily Gunter of Lake Jackson. Sister Hazle Forse Goss and Husband Sheryl Goss of Belton, Texas; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Forse, of Lake Jackson; brother-in-law, Richard Eugene Nichols, of Pearland, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, a generous heart and her beautiful smile. She greatly valued the basics in life and held herself accountable in conducting all areas of their life in a proper manner-"the epitome of a true Southern Lady." Her strong belief in proper manners and appearance even infulenced and became a practice for Bill as well. Joyce will be remembered as the heartbeat of her family.
