My beloved Karin Veazey, 79, of Lake Jackson was called home from this life to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, Friday, June 8, 2012.
Karin was born to Nicholas and Gladys Feer on September 15, 1932, in South Orange, N.J. She graduated from South Orange High School in 1949.
She graduated from Westminster College, PA, with a Bachelor's degree in Education in 1954, later she earned a Master's Degree in Education in Reading from the University of Houston.
Karin met her husband, Earl Veazey, at Westminster and three years later they married in November 1953.
She became the young lieutenant's Air Force wife. After completing Military service, they moved to Midland, Michigan to work for Dow Chemical for the next 36 years.
Through several transfers Karin taught school in Michigan, Connecticut and Lake Jackson.
Karin was an active teacher in the several churches we attended in Brazosport area; she was in Women's A Glow, St. Luke's Healing Order, and various activities in the Charismatic Renewal era.
She ministered to many elderly ladies in their later days.
She loved to talk with people and tell them about Jesus in her daily contacts.
Karin was an accomplished artist and long time member of the local art league.
She served a year as president of the league, chaired a painting circulation program, hung the art league exhibits for years and raised the exhibit quality.
She had been leading the "Any Kids Kan" art program for special children for several years.
She taught many children drawing fundamentals and the basics of various painting mediums.
Her personal art works have been exhibited and sold broadly.
She departed this life just after teaching her lesson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Gladys Feer, and one brother, Frederick Feer.
Karin is survived by her husband, Earl. W Veazey; her daughter, Twila Ann Wyllie and husband, William Wyllie of Margate, FL; three grandsons, Jason Mears of Pembrook Pines, FL, Kevin Mears of Hollywood, FL, and Bryan Mears of Miami, FL.
Services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Willow Drive Baptist Church, Lake Jackson, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Scott McKay officiating with Pastor Glynn Behrend.

Just heard about Karen's passing Thursday afternoon. Sorry I could not come to stand with you, Earl, and pay my proper respects. Article does not mention the many Bible study and prayer groups that Karen enhanced with her insights and sensitivity to God's Spirit moving among us.

To Earl and the family of Karin, It is with deepest sympathy and expressed love that we cover you with prayer at this time of your temporary separation from Karin (wife, mother, grandmother, friend). Our thoughts and prayers will be with you today and days to come. She was a true example of a follower of Christ that blessed the body of Christ through her life and demonstration of Christ's love. A spiritual guide and fabulous prayer warrior. A pansy painting is on my wall, hand matted and framed in her own hands. Always the teacher and guide to friends. So glad to have had her in our lives. May her family know the Peace that passes all understanding.
