Amparo Negrete passed away at the age of 88 in Wharton, Texas.

My Tia Amparo was a strong role model for the boys & girls that grew up in the east end of Freeport during the fifties & sixties.The way she carried herself as a professional career woman and the articulate manner in the way she talked was a strong influence on me especially as I started going to school and began to learn what it took to be a success in life. She cared about her extended family and she was always there for us.I will miss her terribly.My Daddy's baby sister and the last of that generation has gone home.
